Health and Education
As part of its effort to give wider access to education for many Muslim youth in the communities, GISER has instituted scholarship and aid programmes to cater for the health and educational needs of the less privileged. The Health & Education Programme sponsorship started in 2004, with a sponsorship of 30 GLISS students.
The Orphans’ Project started in 1996 in Medina and became the responsibility of the Sisters in the Society. The project began as an effort to take care of Ghanaian Muslim orphans, preserving their identities and giving them an education; academic and religious. Currently each orphan is given $300 a year to cover school, medical and other needs.
